Ned ahead with solo flow in VR Race 4.2
Wouter Claes, Ned Bowen and James Currie surging ahead in the standings whilst Moon Riders are looking dominant in the team classification with Pocomotion chasing

This was explosive and intense, hard riding across undulating terrain with many riders lighting this up with attacks throughout the race, particularly Danes from eCKD. The group was split into two main peletons with hard riding on the front on the uphill metres in the first two km. As usual, sub groups formed to enjoy their own races, but on the front the speeds were high and everyone had to work hard to stay in the group.
In another unexpected finish, we were wondering how the uphill finish would play out and, in the end, we felt a little sorry for Rasmus Feldballe who finished fourth after a lot of attacking. But Ned Bowen won clearly by 0.7 of a second from last week’s winner Wouter Claes (Moon Riders) with James Currie of Southborough getting his second podium of the series in third place. These three are separated by just two points in the standings and this is looking like an intriguing three way battle for this season’s title. Wouter’s brilliant form is also meaning that his team, Moon Riders, are looking dominant so far in the team classification.
Kaspers Hededam, another great Dane, suffered a Techanical half way through the race and was motionless for a while but clawed back places in what must have been a disappointing night. Danie Steyn also suffered from issues tonight.
A warm welcome to Twickenham CC, another local club to enter the fray alongside Watford Velo who are quietly amassing a decent points haul. Another great turnout, 79 starters and 77 finishers from 97 sign ups.
