THE CYCLE SHOW RETURNS TO LONDON AFTER A 10 YEAR ABSENCE
The last time the Cycle Show was in London it was held in Earls Court, which was probably past its heyday and the Cycle show emigrated and was revamped into the rather more ‘fit for purpose’ NEC in Birmingham for a decade. The other part of that strategy was that Birmingham is more central and makes it more accessible across the UK. That is geographically true, although one look at the latitude of the UK and the population centres and you’ll soon appreciate that far more people live towards the South, so we wonder this shift back to London, has that in mind? If so, then we would suggest that Ally Pally is not the most accessible place in London, but it is a lovely setting of course. Whatever the motive, it’s great to have it back in ‘the old smoke’ and we shall endeavour to attend.
Like most ‘exhibitions’ (however you try and rebrand them) there will be lots of brands displaying their real life ‘bike porn’ and some stages where some sages will be interviewed, together with some active participation events. The interviews vary in interest of course, but good ones can be very illuminating.
It promises to be a good event, and takes place on the 22nd to 24th April at Alexandra Palace. We are looking forward to it.
