Things to do in 2022: No 15, local events.

Whilst we appreciate that you all love our Sunday Rides at 9am from the Polish War Memorial, we support cycling in the area generally and we are delighted to see some local events re-emerging from COVID for 2022. Here are a few examples.

Redbourn Sunday 6th March Vreulam CC Reliability Ride a Chiltern Ride on familiar and popular territory

Cobham Sunday 13th March Twickenham CC Surrey Rumble A well established and well run sportive by a good local club. If you fancy a ride out in Surrey, then why not support this event.

Sunday 10th July 2022: (No link as the event website had no info at the time we published this article) The Tour of the Chilterns Cycling Festival now hosts the Archer GP Road Race , with three seperate sportive routes covering some of the same iconic climbs made famous by one of the UK’s oldest Races. The Chiltern Legend sportives offer 150, 100 or 50km distances to best suit you. And if Steel and chrome is your thing then the Amersham Classique will satisfy your retro cravings with a great trip down memory lane, some of the best looking bikes, riders and even team cars will be on display from cycling’s golden eras. Starting and finishing in the grounds of Penn House Estate this is a must do festival for all cycling fans young and old.

Routes are fully signed and supported on the day, timed and with a final closed road climb back to the finish all riders get FREE access into the Velo Village. Retro stalls, street food and local craft beer, live Music, a vintage bike Concors, kids ride, cycle jumble and exhibitor events. Plus the Archer GP finishing in the heart of Penn House that afternoon.

Sunday 11th September Willesden CC Chiltern Arrow Following last year’s success Ian Oliver has decided to keep the Willesden Reliability Ride in September …. good choice sir!
