Fast, Furious, flat, flat-out, fume free fun at 7.30pm (UK TIME) on Wednesday 11th May 2022
You may exhale fume at your result, but there will be no fumes inhaled during this healthy way of racing. Join the happy bunch of cyclists who enjoy life on the traffic free RGT magic roads with joyous countryside scenery and good company. Have a jolly good time with West London VR, 16km fast blast races on Wahoo RGT.
Remember that this is the Queen stage so all female finishers will get 10 Ladies League Bonus points.
If you finish in the top 10 and your power exceeds 5w/kg you may be asked for an ebiopassport.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, our usual ZMS live stream will not be broadcast live for race 5.3 but we intend to record it and broadcast it later. If you wish to watch the race live however, then why not watch live through the eyes of one of the top riders? Both Tom Gakes and Ned Bowen will be streaming, although Ned has warned that there have been technical issues with recent streams. If you watch with Tom you’ll get the bonus of him is his team Draft Event immediately afterwards, great stuff!
We have just had a cracking race 5.2 (be sure to watch the Stream on ZMS) and 13 out of 97 (13.4%) starters were female. Three Ladies teams were competing too, reigning champions Twickenham CC, Smile On and our own West London VR Ladies. We are hoping other teams will join in soon too. Wouter Claes is back on top of the rankings but a flat race is on the bill next, and anything can happen. It is worth reminding everyone that this series has been constructed in a way that the ladies can get the thrills and benefits of a big race peleton in amongst the male riders, whilst scoring points over their female rider peers if they can beat more men. Check out the Series Details for the concept and rules.
