There is just no knowing who will be our Ladies League champion in Series Five. With the Best Six Results’ format it is almost certainly going to be someone who completes six races, but it also rather depends on who else is racing. Points are awarded by reference to the other lady riders in a race, but the points differentials are calculated by reference to how many riders separate each lady rider, irrespective of whether the intermediate riders are male or female. So, for example, if the first lady finisher is 50th in a race, she’ll get 100 points, and if the second lady finisher is 65th, she’ll get 85 points, and so on. Basically, the riders who ride most regularly are likely to benefit from some good points days if the fastest racers are absent.
Furthermore, even if you have ridden 6 races already then you can still increase your points tally by improving upon your, hitherto, best race. The permutations are far to numerous for us to predict, it’s amazingly exciting. Go on girls, you are making this brilliant!
