West London VR: A Series Six Sizzler, as Jamrozik Rocks it, Greenhalgh Graduates, Sammut Snatches it and it’s a Thriller for Miller ….

WATCH THE RACE LIVESTREAM WITH COMMENTARY HERE

Dan’s jam, as top US rider Dan Jamrozik soloed home in style despite a fantastic challenge from Ray Wilson. Meanwhile, it was the respective races for 3rd slot overall which capitvated us, with John Sammut and Jan Vanaudenaerde battlling it out right up to the line having started with just one point separating them in General Classification at the start.

But if third place in GC was a fast and furious thrilling buzz, it was an agonising wait for Claire Miller of Twickenham CC to see if she had done enough to secure the third podium slot in the Ladies League, later confirmed as the numbers were crunched!

A special mention to Ray Wilson who nearly pulled off a win in the Six of the Best category, but well done Wouter for holding on.

So here are the Series Six winners who will receive trophies:

GENERAL CLASSIFICATION: 1) NICK GREENHALGH 2) WOUTER CLAES 3) JOHN SAMMUT

LADIES LEAGUE: 1) CAROLINE REUTER 2) SERENA ACE HOPKINS 3) CLAIRE MILLER

SIX OF THE BEST: WOUTER CLAES

DIRTY DOZEN: NICK GREENHALGH

TEAMS: NoPinz R3R

CYCLING VR-SKILLZ WORLD SERIES

QUALIFERS – WEDNESDAYS WITH WEST LONDON VR & VEER

West London VR Series Seven will run across two separate platforms, the two leading e-Racing with Steering platforms, CADEsport and Wahoo RGT. Each championship will be run separately and the leading riders from each series will be invited to a Two Race Play Off Final at the end with the winner being crowned Cycling e-Skillz World Champion.

IT’S ABOUT CYCLING SKILLZ – THE TWO LEADING PLATFORMS WITH STEERING MAKING THIS SERIES ONE FOR THE DISCERNING CYCLIST WHO WANTS SKILLZ APPEAL RATHER THAN A HAMSTER WHEEL

Details of the final will be announced later but we are planning for Thursday 5th October and will announce the platform it is to be held on in due course. We love both platforms!

Each series comprises 13 races with courses purposely devised with the traditions on West London VR and the new steering dynamics in mind.

1 Mass Start No Draft Race (7.12 Milton’s Chiltern)

2 Flat Steering Races (7.3 Brunel Uni Cycology Steer / 7.6 South Ruislip Steer)

2 Flat Races (7.1 Ab Fab Ascot / 7.10 Ronde Van Ruislip)

1 Downhill (7.7 The Hambleden Hurdles)

3 Undulating (7.2 Windsor Park Ranger / 7.4 Hillingdon Honey / 7.11 Harrow Haul)

1 Hilly (7.8 Dominica)

1 Mixed (some soft climbs) (7.5 Fifield 16km)

1 Time Trial (no draft and individual starts) (7.9 Black Park)

1 Cycle Circuit Race (7.13 Hillingdon Circuit)

CYCLING e-SKILLZ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Final to be held THURSDAY 5th OCTOBER

TWO RACES – ONE SKILLFUL AND ONE POWERFUL

More details to be announced

There are several ways to win within each series, but only the General Classification and Ladies League will count as qualifiers for the Cycling e-Skillz World Champioship

WEST LONDON VR & VEER SERIES’ SEVEN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS: Run across both platforms, in each race the winner will be awarded 100 points with 99 for second down to 1 point for 100th and 101st onwards. There are 13 races in each series, on alternate Wednesdays starting on Wednesday 5th April at 7.30pm (UK time) for CADEsport VEER Races and Wednesday 12th April at 7.30pm (UK time) for Wahoo RGT VR Races. Points only count towards one of the two championships.

WEST LONDON VR SERIES SEVEN TEAM CLASSIFICATIONS. Whilst all riders should enter and ride each race individually, they can concurrently score team points in the team classification in each race if they choose to join a team. Riders will be participating simultaneously in both the individual and team classifications.. Teams can be made up of between two, and eight riders and the individual points earned by the top two from the team in any race are added together to give a Team Score (ie if the top two riders scored, say, 83 and 77 points individually, then the team would also score 160 points). So you will only really need two riders to enter a team, but can’t have more than eight. If only one rider can make it we will still count their solo score for that race. Remember, this is in addition to the individual championships so either being in a team or not being in a team has no effect on your individual placings. You do not need to ride alongside each other, it’s just the best two individual scores that go to the team tally. Clubs may enter more than one team. TO ENTER A TEAM PLEASE EMAIL THE RIDERS’ NAMES AND TEAM NAME TO Dave.MorrisonR@gmail.com

WEST LONDON VR SERIES SEVEN LADIES LEAGUES Run across both Championships, the points from your six best rides in each championship will be counted towards that series’ championship and the female rider with the most points at the end of the series will win each competition and progress to the Ladies World e-Steering Championship Play Off Final. It is possible to augment your score by bettering your current 6th best result.

The leading lady in any race gets 100 points with each subsequent female finisher getting 100 minus the number of places further back in the unisex race they finish. This keeps the incentive to beat men in the sprints because by beating men, you can score more points in the Ladies League. So, if the second lady finisher finishes twenty places behind the first, she gets 80 points and so on…. Our aim is to have Ladies Races where the girls can enjoy the benefits of the peleton, enjoy sprints and don’t end up isolated and solo on the course. It’s a unique concept West London Cycling have evolved to make it more fun for everyone. The Ladies League is based on your best six results from the 13 in the series, so you don’t even have to take part in every race.

WEST LONDON VR SERIES SEVEN LADIES TEAMS CLASSIFICATION. Whilst all riders should enter and ride each race individually, they can concurrently score team points in the team classification in each race if they choose to join a team. Riders will be participating simultaneously in both the individual and team classifications.. Teams can be made up of between two and eight riders and the individual Ladies League points earned by the top two from the team are added together to give a Team Score (ie if the top two riders scored, say, 100 and 85 points individually, then the team would also score 185 points). So you will only really need two riders to enter a team, but can’t have more than eight. If only one rider can make it we will still count their solo score for that race. Remember, this is in addition to the individual Ladies League championships so either being in a team or not being in a team has no effect on your individual placings.

WEST LONDON SERIES SEVEN ‘SIX TIMES TABLE’ COMPETITION (SIX OF THE BEST) The points from your six best rides will be counted and the rider with the most points at the end of the series will win this competition. It will be of interest to anyone who misses a race in the main competition, but even if you don’t, it is possible to augment your score by bettering your current 6th best place. Naturally, up until Race 7.7 it will ‘mirror’ the main classification.
