DID YOU KNOW THAT BRUNEL UNIVERSITY HOSTED CRITERIUM RACING IN THE EARLY 1980s ?
We must thank Tony Flynn and Chris Denman (ORGANISER OF THE TUESDAY RACES AT HILLINGDON) for reminding us that in the early 1980s there was Crit Racing at Brunel. We were fascinated to learn that Chris Denman finished second one year to Craig Stevens … but we’d love to find out more and maybe see some photos … can you provide any more insight? There is even a rumour that there may have been a professional race at one point!
Back to the 2020s and we are bringing Crit Racing back to Brunel in Virtual Racing Form, but based on the actual roads. You can check out our videos previewing it on the VR course and in real life. As you will know, we broadcast the races with commentary, so any background info on the 1980s racing would be great for the commentary. We get excited most Wednesday evenings as we get set for our online races, and this week’s is looking set to be a cracker. We love the specialy built BRUNEL UNI CYCOLOGY STEER course based on one of our local universities. And how fitting? CADESport is the most advanced online cycle platform out there and requires a little learning … so welcome to the University of VR with West London Cycling.
Having said that, CADEsport now has ASSISTS which means you can turn off the steering and braking etc if you’d rather not take on the extra skillz. One word of warning though, the riders employing steering and braking skillz will be able to take corners faster, albeit with the risk of crashing!
YOU CAN NOW CHOOSE WHETHER YOU WANT BRAKING AND STEERING ON OR OFF ON CADEsport
This is race three in our Cycling VR-Skillz series and the current standings can be viewed below. We also have lots of other insights into this week’s race, so just scroll down. The race will be over 7 laps and about 16km long.
IF YOU ARE ALREADY A CADEsport Subscriber, please note that there is a CADEsport update you’ll need to download before racing.
