You can’t keep a good man down, if fact you can’t keep nearly 40 good people down, Wouter Claes was the winner but the Northern Hemispere riders riding smart trainers in the June heat deserve all the plaudits they get. Maria Wizke reported mega temperatures from Puerto Rico whilst we sweltered in West London, I don’t know how it was in Belgium or Scotland but we ended up with Wouter Claes bossing a sprint with the Scotsduo of Alisdair McAlpine and James Melville, both of Glasgow United. Alisdair is consolidating his series lead in General Classification but don’t tell Jan Vana, Sam Josh, Rob Miller or Craog Jones … or even Wouter Claes! Next up we have a twisty course, a brand new one too which could produce an interesting outcome … West London VR mixes up the courses of course!
And the Scots were in further dominating form as Aileen Davidson smashed the Ladies League but only by 5 points from Ireland’s Jeanie Summers. Maria Witzke sat up in the heat and collected points … you need to be there to pick up points and every rider tonight was worth their rewards! The Ladies League is based on the best six results of each rider so has yet to shape itself, but we know that Maria is enjoying being the leader!
