We have been tweaking things a little with regards to the forthcoming ride to Paris in late July. We think you’ll like the improvements, although we have added a few kilometres to the total route:
- The two hotels for the midway stop are now much closer together and one of them is a glamorous French Chateau. Four people will have to stay in the other hotel nearby, but anyone volunteering for the outlying hotel will note need to share … we will be asking if people have a friend they would prefer to share with and volunteers for the single room/outlying hotel option can notify us then.
- The two hotels are in Chaumont en Vexin. One big advantage is that it is nearer Paris than the previous plan, which evens out the two days in France to 127km and 131km respectively.
- Unfortunately Chaumont en Vexin is not directly on the planned route which means a slight detour and added kilomteres … under 10 kilometres each day, so nothing significant.
- Regarding payments, the original plan had been to collect £425 from each rider. In fact we kept this down to £375 (3 x £125) but we are very tightly close to the budget and we may need to collect some cash to cover unexpected tolls, fuel and parking costs for the van. So please have some Euros available up to around £50 worth in case we all need to ‘chip in’.
