What a way to end a series! How does one begin to describe that race? Stevie Couper off the front from the start line, stayed way out front for most of the race until and excellent ride by Karl-Axel Zander Persson saw Karl catch Stevie, race the last few laps with him then sprint home for the win. With Jan Vana not racing the way was open for either Wouter Claes or Craig Jones to nip in and take the third GC slot and, guess what? Yes, Wouter finished 4th to Craig’s 9th to pass him in GC by just 3 points … agonising for Craig, but well done Wouter. Both have been a credit to the series.

But didn’t the Scots do well? Alisdair McAlpine won GC, a popular winner, with his team mate James Melville bagging second spot ahead of Wouter Claes. This meant Glasgow United were team champions too and with Aileen Davidson taking the Ladies League ahead of Maria Witzke and Jessica Wright there’ll be a lot of trophies head towards Caledonia!

We may need your address to send trophies out to, please contact us via dave.morrisonR@gmail.com if we don’t already have your details.

And it all starts again with Series 8 on Wednesday 4th October on WahooRGT at 7.30pm UK Time. Please keep alert for announcements with all the rumours of RGT’s future being in doubt. If RGT does disappear, remember that we now have races every Monday at 7.30pm on IndieVelo CLICK HERE.
