Some like it Bot, but with West London VR's rollicking Monday Malarkey it's a Bot Free Blast (with limited access to one Pacer Bot for 1km) ..... PACER BOTS EXPLAINED by Professor Pacer of the Malarkey University Monday Faculty

Here at the campus of Malarkey University situated in the heart of IndieVelo Island in the Strava Ocean, we devoted a massive amount of time almost stretching to one minute in deciding that we would have NO BOTS in our Monday Malarkey online races on Indie Velo. Natually, we needed to prove this was the correct prognosis and following seconds of research we developed this breakthrough formula which we believe proves beyond all reasonable doubt that we were influenced by our conscious bias and preferences:

Once we were satisfied that we had chosen a strategy which would work best for our races we set about setting up and establishing our race formula but then relented and opted for a wonderful Pacer Bot which helps, we think, a smoother start to the races.

So, in a West London VR Monday Malarkey Race, the bot starts out at 30kph and any riders either drawing level with, or overtaking, the Pacer Bot will experience severe braking and will be instantly pinged back in the peloton. This avoids the frenetic start to races so often seen on other platforms. However, given the danger that the frenetic catapult start is just delayed until the 1km mark (when the neutralized start end and the Pacer Bot can be passed) the Pacer Bot will gradually increase speed up to 50kph by the 1km point (where the Flamme Blanc will appear). This usually means that the Pacer Bot is slightly ahead of the riders by then and the race has already morphed into a natural rhythm and flow.

We believe this makes for a smoother race and even if you disagree, never mind, there will be loads of KMs to go and you’ll forget all about that Pesky Pacer Bot by the finish.

As for Race Bots, they are brilliant on Indie Velo, but West London VR have always been a People Race Purveyor and, if you want Bots, they will be available elsewhere in great events like Wednesday Worlds and others.
