West London Sunday Safari to Jenners Cafe Boulters Lock; 14th April at 9am from the Polish War Memorial (A40 Ruislip / Northolt)

It’s about time we returned to Jenners Cafe in Maidenhead and with some West London Cyclonauts doing the 300km 3Down on Saturday, a Thames Valley spin on Sunday makes sense …. so Sunday 14th April at 9am, join West London Cycling at the Polish War Memorial for a memorable ride out … As usual, there are two choices (78km and 80km choices) but, unusually, this route has a third option, Bolt Back from Boulters at 64km with less climbing. The short cut is practical rather than picturesque and is a legacy from a winter ride a couple of years back where conditions dictated a curtailed ride. We just thought we’d throw it in there for anyone who might need to get home early on Sunday.

You can choose your route on the day, and which group you ride in. We generally have several groups on the road, depending on how many people are riding, so it’s flexible and tailored to riders’ needs. The slowest group will generally wait for the slowest rider (or split into sub groups) but you should be able to manage 30kph on flat stretches with an average speed of around 22kph over the distance. Faster groups will be more speedy of course.

Just turn up at 9am at the Polish War Memorial (A40 Ruislip / Northolt) with the route downloaded on your device. To get the route you need to sign up (free – see button above to subscribe) and then you’ll have access to our routes via the members’ zone tab above (choose routes and rides).

As noted above, we decide on the day as to how many groups we split into, it really depends on who turns up. The faster groups will usually do the longer of the two options with the aim of us all reaching coffee stops at similar times

OPTION ONE: Bolt out to Boulters 78km

OPTION TWO: Bolt out to Boulters Bigger 80km

OPTION THREE: Short cut home with less ascent if you need to get home early 64km
