Saunderton wiv or wivout Whiteleaf? .... da big decision for ya big day out y'all! Sunday 8th September, the club ride wiv' an optional hill challenge! ... (In case ya' don't know, ya' really don't wanna miss this one, jus' sayin' like).

Hear what ….. dis event was ‘king excellent last year and it was unaminously and immediately decided at da cafe stop dat it ‘ad to be an annual event, like. Yeah, like it was dat good ya’know. So ‘ere we are again, be dere or despair.

It’s one o’ dem usual Sunday club ride tings, ya get me? But wiv’ a difference seen. If ya’ choose ta do da’ long route, ya’ Strava time up da’ Whiteleaf Official 100 Climbs segment ting is gonna put cha’ in da frame for one o’ dem trophies in da’ picture above, ya see? … so make a goddam effort won’cha?

So, ‘ere’s watcha need ta know, official stuff like:

The short route riders (Social Group and Medium Short Route Riders) will set off at 9am. The Fast Group and Medium Long Route riders set off at 9.15am. This means that the non-hill climb competitors should arrive at the summit of Whiteleaf before the long route riders crest it.

Long Route riders should try and put a bit of effort into the full Whiteleaf Climb (from the main road – none of that poncy half way nonsense) and make sure you put your effort in beyond the cheering crowds of Short Route Riders near the top and pedal on to the top of / junction with Kop Hill. You will feel like a pro as the crowds cheer you on … it is special.

Short Route riders, don’t follow the route down Kop Hill when you reach it … go on 50m to 100m and dismount before cheering your club mates as they complete the final metres up Whiteleaf … create an atmosphere like last year … it was awesome!

Don’t make the mistake of missing this, it is a great ride … trus’ me bredren’

Oh yeah! And dere’s a cafe stop at the Golf Club in Saunderton for the punditory bolox of ‘ifs and maybes’ innnit?

It is also a qualifying ride for the Newlane Folding Helmet draw … jus’ sayin!
