West London Cycling’s annual Whiteleaf Strava Palarver; a strain in the rain with a wonderful gain as riders relish the challenge
Whiteleaf in the rain, reasonably heavy rain too, may have deterred many, but nearly 30 hardy souls ventured out for another memoarble West London Cycling Sunday run, this time with a Strava Challenge up Whiteleaf, with a trophy for the best Strava times up Whiteleaf. Unfortunately, the start of the Strava segment was right at the start of Peters Lane and it caught out a few riders who stopped and removed rain jackets just after the start line, with Strava incorporating their declothing time into the segment. Always ready to adapt, your 21st Century Cycling Club just changed to another segment which started slightly further up, enabling PK and Iwona to take the Men’s and Ladies’ Trophies respectively.
Everyone else had a great time too, with plenty of first-time Whiteleafers and PBs for others …. and the sun came out after the climb as we enjoyed a coffee at Princes Risborough Golf Club.
