When the wind has been howling all night, keeping you awake, and weather channels and BBC journalists are getting excited you’d be forgiven for staying in bed instead of riding. But as much as Michael Fish got it sensationally wrong in 1987, modern ‘Health and Safety’ mongerers in the media tend to overstate the danger. We saw no other cycling clubs on the road, about 5 lycra cyclers and about 5 other cyclists whilst out … yet it was quite cycleable, albeit windy.

So, well done to the quirky quintet who come out to non Poula Fisch Forecasts and had a breeze winding through Windsor in the wind, passing Elton John’s former home on Crimp Hill like ‘bike handlers in the wind’.
