At last, we can reveal our ride on Sunday 6th September …. it is no longer ‘classified’ and the ROUTE REVEAL is here.

We’d like to have left it until the actual day but we appreciate that you’ll all need time to download the routes beforehand; like Christmas and Birthdays, you’ve had to wait to open it this week but we think you’ll love this one with it’s 1940s themed cafe and optional cobbles (there is tarmac alongside the cobbles). There’s even a prize for the fastest up the cobbles.

It is worth exploring, especially for those of you who are interested in history and tradition .. a great cafe you’ll love and the option to challenge yourself on a few cobbles … Check out the Chilterns with us on Sunday 6th September at 9am, Hillingdon Station, UB10 9NR.

SHORT ROUTE 68km 650m ascent

LONG ROUTE 71km 690m ascent

Cobbles optional on both routes

The fastest Strava time up the cobbles will win a West London Cycling snood.

THE BOWLBERG STRAVA SEGMENT

There are tarmac sidewalks if you want to avoid the cobbles

THE ROUTES for Operation ‘Chiltern Storm’ (classified)

SHORT ROUTE AVAILABLE HERE

LONG ROUTE AVAILABLE HERE

We split into different speed groups on the road, depending on how many people are riding, so it’s flexible and tailored to riders’ needs. The slowest group will generally wait for the slowest rider (or split into sub groups) but you should be able to manage 30kph on flat stretches with an average speed of around 22kph over the distance. Faster groups will be more speedy of course.
