TAKE YOUR PICK – TWO GREAT FREE RIDES FROM HILLINGDON STATION ON SUNDAY 1st NOVEMBER LONG OR LOCAL, WHICH CLASSIC ROUTE WILL YOU CHOOSE?

Long Ride 8am start: It’s that special ride to Brighton for the Veteran Car Rally, where we ride alongside veteran cars over 100 years old! … it’s a fantastic atmosphere and quite a spectacle. We start at 8am from Hillingdon Station (UB10 9NR) and catch the train back to London (Farringdon).

Local Ride 9am start: If you want to stay local, we also have a ride for you, it’s the wonderful and popular Fat Duck, Waterside Boult where we pass three of the Maidenhead area’s finest eating establishments. The 3 Star Michelin rated Fat Duck and Waterside Inn as well as Jenners Cafe. We will be stopping for coffee at Jenners cafe as, unfortunately, the other two will not be open in the morning when we pass by.

We split into different speed groups on the road, depending on how many people are riding, so it’s flexible and tailored to riders’ needs. The slowest group will generally wait for the slowest rider (or split into sub groups) but you should be able to manage 30kph on flat stretches with an average speed of around 22kph over the distance. Faster groups will be more speedy of course.

GROUP RIDING: If you are new to club riding, West London Cycling is a great club to get into it with. Before you start, why not learn a few of cycling’s protocols and etiquettes? It’ll help you slot in and feel at home from the get-go!
