Monday Malarkey pioneered bot-free racing on Indie Velo when when the platform first started Beta Testing. Monday Malarkey Test Races started on 3rd July 2023 and the first series went live on 24th July (Mondays at 7.30pm UK Time) runing through to the end of September 2023. Series Two, ran until Christmas 2023and will be followed by Series Three starting on 5th February 2024!

RACE 3.1 Monday 5th February 7.30pm UK Time Coastal Loop – 1lap 16.1km 42m ascent
Races are, typically be in the 15km to 25km range, although not exclusively. They will be BOT FREE but will have 1km NEUTRALIZED STARTS WITH A PACER. The Pacer will start at 30kph, rising to 50kph by the 1km mark. This helps avoid the rush at the start and by making the Pacer fast at the 1km mark there should be no stampede at that point either. If a rider passes, or draws alongside, the Pacer, their brakes will automatically kick in and they will fall back towards the back of the bunch.
There are several classifications with trophies:
Unisex General Classification (all riders)
Ladies League (scroll down for details)
Teams (You need to register to a team in Indie Velo)
Riders will get 100 points for first position, 99 for second in each race and so on, ie 98th for third etc There are trophies for the series’ podium places. There is also the Ladies League (scroll down).
The Ladies League offers 100 points to the first female finisher. The second lady will get 100 point less the number of places further back she is. So, if she were 10 places behind the first lady in the full race, she’d get 90 points. There is then a countback to third, in the same way to determine the third lady’s points.
This has been tried and tested iand gives the ladies a chance to race in the full peleton whilst still competing against the other women. In particular it becomes worth sprinting against nearby males because extra places also earn extra points in the Ladies League by cutting the number of places between the lady rider and the lady rider ahead. Exciting stuff!
Free trophies will be sent to the podium placed riders in the General Classification and Ladies League,plus winning team.
