Another great season for our Audax Randonneurs … more for 2024 too!
Another glorious Top Ten finish for West London Cyclig in the Natioanl Audax UK Clubs Championships. Although we slipped from 7th (2022) to 9th in 2023, agonisingly, if Jas Gill hadn’t succumbed to injury in Paris-Brest-Paris we’d have mainrtained our status at 7th. Of course, it was such a shame and Jas did the right thing by quitting during the return leg.
A great deal of this success is attributable to Clifford French (AKA The Sunset Cyclist) .. Clifford got 100 points, which comes with a trophy of its own from Audax UK. Check out Clifford’s Sunset Cyclist weblog link!
Here are the final standings:
We have lots of Audax DIY events lined up for 2024, starting with the Zig Zagged Hovis 200km ride to Bournemouth (Train back) which includes Gold Hill (from the famous Hovis Adverts) as well as Zig Zag Hill. Also look out for Going Underground (200km), 3Down (300km), Rustington Rave (200km) and Dunwich Dynamo (200km). Of course, Audax UK now give points for rides as low as 50km, so you can score Audax Uk points with shorter DIY rides now if you wish!
Why not get into shape with our upcoming Reliability Ride on 2nd March from Uxbridge?
