ON THE DAY
Your Tour de Ricky start times are as follows:
200km riders 8am
100km riders 9am
50km riders 10am
YOU MAY CHANGE ROUTES BUT MUST NOTIFY US AT THE START.
To avoid later starters creating a queue and holding up earlier leavers, your Brevet Cards will only be available an hour before your start. If you are upgrading to a longer route, this won’t be ideal but you should ask, politely, if you can have your Brevet Card early. If you are going down a distance this will not be an issue.

We would encourage you to ride to the venue as their isn’t enough parking for everyone. There is a general parking fee but it wil be free for riders. If you can’t get in, then there is plenty of street parking around Maple Cross, especially on the Old Uxbridge Road heading Southwards from Woodoaks Farm.

At the start, pick up your Brevet Card, have a coffee/tea from the Tea Shack and enjoy the atmosphere.

When you pick up your Brevet Card you’ll find two Prize Draw entry tokens in your pack. There are different prizes and you can put each token into one of the prize draw boxes. The more the value the less winners, whilst other prizes may have multiple winners. You get the chance to pick which prizes to go for, whailst gambling on the odds, which are dictated by how many other riders go for the same prize! It’s gonna be fun, choose your entries carefully.

Sadly, it seems that  Freewheel / Shimano UK are having financial issues and can no longer afford to support the event (and we understand others). Their latest publicly filed accounts appear to indicate plunging revenues. Notwithstanding their situation, they have, rather unprofessionally in our opinion, reneged on the agreement which means they won’t be present. We would certainly beware of purchasing through Freewheel in the circumstances.

Nevertheless, the event has actually got even better despite Freewheel’s unprofessional behaviour as Specialized Ruislip have stepped up and supplied two £50 vouchers redeemable at the shop in Ruislip. We have added other prizes too, and there may even be more …. Tour de Ricky just gets better!

Finally, if you live locally, you will be aware that there are roadworks along the A412 outside the venue. We will confirm access before the event but are currently thinking of using another entrance along the road … we will update you.

With so many entries, tweaked routes, new controls, a finisher’s roundel and much more, this look like it’s gonna be a mega event.
