Another stunning triple header weekend on the way from West London Cycling coming up on 10th, 11th and 12th October

We have another action-packed weekend ahead with West London Cycling.

After last weekend’s brilliant Brighton Gravel Ride we switch to the Chiltern Hills this Saturday (There is another gravel ride next weekend …) and a chance to do the legendary Crong Climb. Start at 8am on Saturday from Hillingdon Station (UB10 9NR) .. scroll down for details.

Then on Sunday it’s another cafe favourite with the Simply Surrey route taking us to the Old Post Office Cafe in Chobham .. we all love this place! See you at 9am at Hillingdon Station. More details below.

We round off on Monday with another International Online Race in the Monday Malarkey Series, which has been absolutely firin’ in the first three races. After the Caribbean, Spain and Heathrow Airport we are on our second local race with Elton’s Pel’ton focusing on Elton John related locations around Pinner and Watford. Next week it’s Specialized Ruislip and then Box Hill before we locate, virtually, overseas again. What ya’ need to know, is written below:

The ‘star’ climb is the legendary Crong …. and if you have never done The Crong, here’s your chance to ‘tick off’ one of the classic Chiltern Climbs …. an epic for sure!

We’ve always have a great time visiting ‘Simply Dine’ at the Old Post Office in Chobham and your next chance to experience their hospitality is on Sunday 11th October at 9am from Hillingdon Station (UB10 9NR)

MONDAY 12th OCTOBER – ONLINE RACING ON BIKETERRA AT 19.00 UK TIME

ELTON’s PEL’TON is a 16km race passing the childhood homes of musician Elton John in Pinner and, also, Watford FC’s ground. It starts at 19.00pm UK Time on Biketerra.

So, it’s ‘Good Bike-Terra Brick Road’ on Biketerra at 19.00 UK Time on Monday 12th October … it’s not just for Rocket Men or Women so join the fun ‘coz Monday Night’s Alright for Riding.

Biketerra subscriptions are free and race entry is free. These races are designed to be fast blast winter fitness events and are highly popular internationally.

RIDE PROTOCOLS

We split into different speed groups on the road, depending on how many people are riding, so it’s flexible and tailored to riders’ needs. The slowest group will generally wait for the slowest rider (or split into sub groups) but you should be able to manage 30kph on flat stretches with an average speed of around 22kph over the distance. Faster groups will be more speedy of course.

GROUP RIDING: If you are new to club riding, West London Cycling is a great club to get into it with. Before you start, why not learn a few of cycling’s protocols and etiquettes? It’ll help you slot in and feel at home from the get-go!

Two routes to choose from on Sundays, the fast group usually ride the longer option.
