A little bit of pre-ride fun; we thought we’d let the riders decide which cafe to stop at this Sunday …. voting in the WLC Whatsapp Group for regular riders.
Scroll down for the Nip and Tuck route details

THE CANDIDATES (The ‘runners for riders’):
1. CLEAR CUT COFFEE – BOURNE END 31.8km

Tucked away on a small industrial estate in Bourne End this little gem also house a video golf range. Designed for indoor consumption and not set up with bike parking facilities. Decent coffee and cakes but risks congestion if a large group shows up. Slightly before half way in the ride.
2. THE TUK SHOP – MAIDENHEAD 43km

This is set in a municipal park with outdoor seating which can be covered over if raining and bikes are in full sight. We had a decent bacon roll and it will suit those wanting hot cafe food but not so much for those who enjoy a full on patiserrie offering. Just after half way in the ride.
3. THE LAKE HOUSE CAFE – TAPLOW 48.1km

A wonderful setting by a lake with covered outdoor seating. It can get busy but this is less likely in November and bikes are within view. Excellent food and drinks. Over half way in the ride just before the Jubilee River cycle route.
4. CROCUS @ DORNEY REACH – DORNEY 52.4km

Crocus is within a Garden Centre and you take your bike through the cafe and into a safe yard with outdoor seating. You can eat inside too. Service levels can vary, but more often good than bad. Decent selection of food and drinks. Just after the Jubilee River Cycle Route with a fairly flat ride home afterwards.
THE ROUTES
Nip and Tucked (Short) aka Try-Caf-Lon Short.

Nip and Tuck (Long) aka Try-Caf-Lon Long

START LOCATION GUIDE: HILLINGDON STATION … a great venue for your cycling adventures to begin!
We split into different speed groups on the road, depending on how many people are riding, so it’s flexible and tailored to riders’ needs. The slowest group will generally wait for the slowest rider (or split into sub groups) but you should be able to manage 30kph on flat stretches with an average speed of around 22kph over the distance. Faster groups will be more speedy of course.
GROUP RIDING: If you are new to club riding, West London Cycling is a great club to get into it with. Before you start, why not learn a few of cycling’s protocols and etiquettes? It’ll help you slot in and feel at home from the get-go!
Two routes to choose from, the fast group usually ride the longer option.
FREE RIDES EVERY SUNDAY 9am start from Hillingdon Station (UB10 9NR)
Route GPX files are made available in the week of the ride on the West London Cycling
